1897 Vines Grenache
Wine
Chapel Hill 1897 Vines Grenache is sourced from a tiny patch of gnarled, stoic bush vines. Planted in 1897, they are a treasured resource of McLaren Vale.
The fruit is handled carefully in small batches to showcase the character of its site. Destemmed berries are open fermented with gentle plunging to extract colour and flavour.
The wine is slowly basket pressed from the skins before being transferred to fine grained French oak barrels. It ages for at least one year, then is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Deep red, Chapel Hill 1897 Vines Grenache is medium bodied with bright fruit flavours and supple tannins. Cellaring potential is six years.
